Refine your project on REFINERI 2015

Amateurs and professionals, filmmakers and fine artists, writers, musicians and all other with an artistic vision that lends itself to filmmaking but does not necessarily end on the borders of that media, are welcomed to Rijeka to REFINERI 2015, the Platform for the development of hybrid AV creativity.

REFINERI opens the call for 8 smaller creative author’s AV projects which will be inspired, developed and optimally finished during the three sessions in 2015.

1. Session – 20th – 24th April 2015 (inspirational and pre-production session for 8 projects)
2. Session – July 2015 (consultation during the production phase of the project + ExOriente Film workshop)
3. Session – December 2015 (post-production and distribution plan for up to 3 projects)

Application of the projects and participation to the workshops is FREE of any fees.
The call for submission will be open from February 12th to March 15th 2015.
The results will be announced on March 20th 2015.

Within the second sessions, four selected projects will participate in the international workshop for the development of documentary film Ex Oriente Film held in Rijeka, and organized in partnership of the Institute of documentary film (IDF) from Prague.

CONDITIONS:
Previous film experience and education is not necessary. The only requirement for participation is an original vision of the project and the proficiency in English.
Each selected project can be represented by one, exceptionally two representatives.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:
1. Synopsis (What, 1800-3600 characters max.)
2. CV
3. The author’s conception (Why and How, 1800-3600 characters max.)
4. Visual materials (trailer, photos, renderings, or mood board)
5. Operating and financial plan by month (Budget&Timetable)

Documents should be sent in English to:
submission@refineri.net, until March 15th 2015.

When choosing the applicants, the emphasis will primarily be on the author’s conception, originality and innovative approaches to the AV work. Applicants, who will be shortlisted, will be contacted for clarification of details.
In the event that the selected applicant withdraws from participation in the workshop, it is necessary to contact the organizers at least 14 days prior to the first sessions.

Platform REFINERI is carried out with the support of Croatian Audiovisual Center, the City of Rijeka, Foundation Kultura nova, the MEDIA Programme of the EU, in collaboration with Croatian national theatre “Ivan pl. Zajc” and Art-kino Croatia, and in partnership with the Institute of Documentary Film in Prague.
