Members of the Association UKUS, Aleš Suk and Željka Suková, are momentarily spending their time in Warsaw, Polland, as members of the jury on the 11th Planete + Doc Film Festival which is held from 9 till 18 May in the Kinoteka Warszawa.
Aleš Suk is a jury member in the main section of the festival – Millennium Bank – together with Nino Kirtadze, Georgian director, actress and Oscar winner, and with Manuel Rougeron, the director of the French Canal +. The selection presents some of the already known documentaries such as “Ai Weiwei: The Fake Case” a movie on Chinese contemporary artist, or a new documentary from Michel Gondry “Is the Man Who is Tall Happy?” with the series of interviews with Noam Chomsky.
Željka Suková is a jury member in section of mid-length documentaries nominated for the Magic Hour Award. She is accompanied with Polish director, screenwriter and producer Pawel Łoziński, and with Polish film critique and culture expert Błażej Hrapkowicz.
One interesting thing from Warsaw is the fact that the first docu-fiction “Marija’s own” directed by Željka Suková was also nominated for the Magic Hour Award two years ago, when the screening was followed by the concert of Czech electro-undergound band Midi lidi.
