After winning the award for the Best Central and Eastern European documentary at the 17th Jihlava International Film Festival last October, “Winter / Miracle” by Željka Sukova and Gustavo Beck (production: UKUS Association, DOX:LAB, If You Hold a Stone) will be shown in Brussels as well.
The film was selected for screening at the movie theatre Nova Cinema (www.nova-cinema.org) in Brussels, whose founder was the person that brought “Winter / Miracle” to the European capital – his name is Gwenaël Brees, and he was a member of the jury in Jihlava, in the section Between the Seas.
Thanks to this contact and cooperation from Jihlava, “Winter / Miracle” will be shown in a movie theatre which has become an important reference point for alternative, unconventional or simply different approaches to the audiovisual arts in Belgium and abroad. The film will be shown on the 31st January at 22 hours in the main hall of the theatre, within the programme “The Echoes of Jihlava”.
It will be presented by its director Željka Suková and producer, cinematographer and editor Aleš Suk. The conversation with the authors will be moderated by Gwenaël Brees.
After the showing in Brussels, “Winter /Miracle” will travel to several Czech galleries and museums of modern art.
