From 20 to 23 April, Beli on the island Cres will host the first workshop session of the Platform for the support and development of AV creativity REFINERI 2015 .
This session will be focused on inspiring of selected participats: Sanja Gergorić (ARTexpress), Ana Jurčić and Marta Batinić (Audible), Marina Musulin (Krešo) and Kristijan Vučković (All My Heroes are either Astronauts or Aliens) from Croatia, Vera Marques (I.D.W.A.) from Portugal and Nejra Hulusić and Sabrina Begović-Ćorić (Under the Cover) from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Authors will be collaborating with Narimane Mari, director from Algiers, and Croatian directors Aleš Suk, Željka Sukova and Igor Bezinović.
The programme includes two screenings opened to the public: Bloody Beans by Narimane Mari (a Croatian premiere) and Veruda – a film about Bojan by Igor Bezinović. Bloody Beans will be shown on Pricrekva square in Beli, Tuesday, 8.30 PM, and Veruda – a film about Bojan on Wednesday. After both screenings directors will participate in Q&A session.
Bloody Beans won the award for the best documentary at the progressive CPH:DOX film festival in Copenhagen. It is a phantasmagorical reflection on “vivid” socio-political history of Algiers as seen by the eyes of children. Veruda – a film about Bojan, which was recently awarded at 11th ZagrebDox with special jury mention to the author up to 35 years of age, is a story about 24-years-old Bojan who spent 20 years of his life in Veruda neighborhood in Pula, and the rest four in Croatian prisons.
