Docufiction allegory ENDLESS TAIL after its international premiere at Karlovy Vary IFF travels to compete at Festival de Cine Sevilla in Spain and Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco.
The Spanish premiere in Endless Revolutions section is scheduled for October 11th @ 10PM and the reprise for October 14th @8PM at festival´s center Nervión Plaza cinemateque. An UKUS´ masterclass is held within festival industry activities on October 15th @ 8PM. Among other industry activities a panel on European author film is held on October 14th with the participation of both film director and producer. ENDLESS TAIL is also selected as the best film in the selection of Young programmers of Moving Cinema platform.
The African premiere of ENDLESS TAIL will be hosted by prestigious Festival International du Film de Marrakech in Morocco within its section The 11th Continent devoted to challenging of the stereotypes of classical film practice. The film will be screened on November 5th and 7th in Musée Yves Saint Laurent.
Experimental feature length film psalm THE END OF LIGHT will be screened in the competition section Czech Joy of 22nd International festival of documentary film Jihlava, held from October 25th to 30th 2018 in Czech Republic.
The premiere will be hosted by festival´s central cinema Dukla Reform on Sunday October 28th while the reprise will be screened on the main stage of Jihlava´s national theatre on October 30th. The project of THE END OF LIGHT will be presented within program SPOTLIGHT in October 27th as well. The film is also a part of this year´s edition of Silver East Market.
The international premiere will be presented and followed by Q/A moderated by the legendary Czech film director, dramaturg, teacher and theoretic Jan Gogola jr. Hospodářské noviny, Czech daily newspaper, included the film among 10 best films to watch (in the company of Wender, Herzog or Godard) nicknaming it “Freakshow of xenophobia”.
Docufiction allegory ENDLESS TAIL / BESKRAJNI REP (2018), by director and screenwriter Željka Sukova, will have its world premiere at the 53. International Film Festival Karlovy Vary (29 June – 7 July 2018) on Sunday, July 1st , 2018.
The film was produced by UKUS from Rijeka and financed by Croatian audiovisual center and the City of Rijeka, and will be presented as a part of the festival section Imagina featuring creative films of an unconventional approach to narrative and style and a radical visions of the film language.
ENDLESS TAIL is a 60-minute auter lullaby liturgy at the boundary of documentary, experimental and fiction, which allegorically links images kept on islands of Susak, Lošinj, Vis, Izu Oshima and Honshu.
The film is a pilgrimage through real and imaginative landscapes in order to face profane and sacred paths, an unmistakable and unpredictable pursuit for the longing to return to Heaven, whose existence is questionable.

Film “Marija’s Own” is being shown on 21. of June 2017 at ART-FILM FESTIVAL in the cultural center Tabačka in Košice within the section Peter Kerekes presents. The selection revelas the most loved and favorite films of legendary Slovak director, producer and screenwriter. Tabačka kulturfabrik is a multicultural space and an slovak home scene of czech electro-trash band Midi lidi, one of the main protagonists of “Marija’s Own” . Screening and ucoming socializing anetworking are attended by authors, director Željka Sukova and producer Aleš Suk.
“Marija’s Own” also appears public during 2017. summer in the garden of the bar Tor in Rijeka (Slovenski dom Bazovica), specifically on 2 August 2017 as part of the program Slučajno kino / Accidental Cinema organized by the Liburnia Film Festival, so one cam meet granny Marija in more places around.

Good news from Creative Europe – MEDIA desk: auteur film in development, with the working title “Lying carpet“, directed by Željka Sukova, won the support of 25,000 € for the development of individual projects. “Lying carpet” is Slovak-Croatian co-production, with foreign producer being a famous Slovak director Peter Kerekes.
The third joint workshop sessions of Ex Oriente Film by Institute Documentary Film in Prague, and the REFINERI programme of the Association UKUS from Rijeka, was once again successfully held in Rijeka, during the past week.
Association UKUS from Rijeka and the Prague Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) will, for the third time, organize a joint session of the author’s documentary development workshop, which will be held from July 20 to 25, in the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka, the Art-kino Croatia and on the beach Grčevo.
Association UKUS and Film Academy FAMU from Prague, the organizers of the film workshop CinemaPlay, have decided on 12 participants of the intensive film workshop to be held from 2 til 4 May 2015 in Rijeka, Croatia.
